Let's cut to the chase and get to 1985, I had just got here and seeing what life was about, it showed me some things that I could never dream of, make me tell you some things I couldn't just think up, let's get to the point and I could tell you some action mama dragging her 4 year old out in the cold what's really happening though, remembering stories of abuse and going to different shelters, roommate showing her pulled out hair in a baggy heaven help us, mama held me in the hall I pulled the fire alarm down, got us kicked out Lord how many miles will we walk now till we till meet some new faces and staying with some different strangers and red light specials nothing for the kid to see, this life was dangerous, at a point I remember wondering if I'd see my dad again, but it all happened for a reason and now I understand, cuz it was my time in life and I played the hand I was dealt, I had no choice and now I'm here to tell,

Now let's get back to it things weren't always so bad, we had some good family times so just know that, but then it seemed the same would come back again, and I'm getting dragged off but I make a phone call to end my troubling, but I was older now putting two and two together, wildin' out skipping school just going through the changes, and feeling things that really nobody knew, just getting tired of the lies and the mental abuse, just let me do me and be my individual self, but I still don't regret the knowledge in life that I was dealt, I was put on the right path and I know I strayed off sometimes but I'm still here to tell it and that's a blessing of mine, I'll never forget those close encounters with death n chemicals in me and guns pulled on me but there was something left, and you better believe I'm thankful for it all cuz everyday's a lesson and some rise and some fall what..

By this time in life there was so much going on, living from coast to coast till my son was born, time to plant my feet and stay in one place, had the best intentions but you gotta watch out for snakes and people with hidden intentions just let me and mines be but some out here just so demented you see, was plotting on me all along and just wanted my seed and doing whatever it is you can just to get in between, but I gotta keep my head up because I know God's got a plan and I might not get it at first but eventually I'll understand, just gotta keep on stepping best lessons come in the end, gonna leave my mark and let em' know where I began, because I've come too far just to give up now even though its crossed my mind a couple of times it ain't the way out and I don't want my family crying at my funeral thinking that's what I was about, life's too good and I don't wanna miss out,
